Triathlonpals training with Ollybars

Triathlonpals training with Ollybars

"Me and the TriPals have been testing out Ollybars these past few weeks and whilst I’m not a nutritionist I can tell you how they’ve affected me and become part of my regular training regime and they that they are nutritional good! Aside from the mouth watering flavours 'Peanut Choc Chip' and 'Banana Cherry' (my two favourite flavours in life!) there's the 'All Day Breakfast' made of 12 different fruit, nuts and seeds jammed into a 60g bar.
v
The first thing you notice when sinking your teeth into these bad boys is that they’re not a “damp squib” like a the usual nutritional bars. So often health bars either taste rough, or are melted together and feel like you’re just eating mush. Doesn’t really leave a great impression in your hungry mouth and typically leaves you feeling like you’re wanting more. Not OllyBars!
v
TriPals agreed that Ollybars feel like you’ve got a solid chew to get through and that you're actually just eating something real that fills the void. Result as I’ve been using Ollybars for training and in daily life and they’ve really kept me going. Times like when I’m out for a day of meetings with work or haven’t been able to make myself a healthy snack on the go.
v
I’ve got a fairly good diet anyway, but these bars are a great top up fuel when I need it! To give you an example of how I’ve been devouring them.... yesterday, I was setting off for a run / swim / run, so I knew I’d need my energy especially on the return leg of the last run. Waking up late, I didn’t have time for my normal pre-exercise porridge brekkie so chomped down an Ollybars 'All Day Breakfast'. It kept me going for the 6km run and into my swim just great.

Then out of the pool, trainers donned, I ripped open my favourite 'Peanut Choc Chip' bar and from the walk out of the pool managed to get it all down into my belly. The 6km home was hard, but that’s my training and it was into an ice cold north easterly headwind, but I actually ran my average kilometre pace faster than on my way out first thing. I’m not saying it’s purely down to Ollybars, of course its not. BUT I did feel I had the energy in me to keep me going for my morning training without shovelling all sorts of bad things into my mouth to keep me going.

So OllyBars.... a massive thumbs up from TriPals!" Matt Coynes
