Juliet Elliot cycling blogger road tests Ollybars

I’ve tried so many brands of bars as I get through a lot of them on the bike, but when I first bit into an Olly Bar I immediately knew they were a bit special. They’re absolutely ram-jammed with stuff I love -  almonds, brazil nuts, pumpkin and chia seeds, berries, dried banana, dates - the ingredients read like a check list of my favourite things to eat so they’re now one of my favourite things to eat whilst I’m riding.

My husband and I packed a few went we went bikepacking on the Ridgeway and they survived very well being rattled around in our bags as we rode to Avebury. It sounds silly, but knowing I had a couple of Olly Bars in my frame bag was a comfort out on the trails -  I burn through food really quickly and worry about ‘bonking’ when I’m miles from anywhere. They definitely helped keep the hunger pangs at bay as they’re pretty substantial, as well as being easy to eat. I now take a bar on every ride and there’s always a couple in my backpack when I’m travelling.
